Overview

Nuevo Amanecer Latino Children’s Services is a Bilingual Latino, profoundly multicultural, California non–profit Corporation. Nuevo Amanecer Latino was created to provide children and their families with educational and family-based treatment services of the best quality. Their work is dedicated to improving the children’s quality of life. Nuevo Amanecer Latino’s existing IT infrastructure was insufficient to meet the demands of a rapidly growing organization. At the time SADA was contacted Nuevo Amanecer Latino had a high rate of network difficulties, and no procedures for data recovery in the event of a disaster.

Solution
Nuevo Amanecer Latino had been getting by on legacy components for years before contacting SADA. After evaluating their existing network infrastructure SADA began the process of updating their systems. We purchased a new Windows server to act as a file server and domain controller. Microsoft Exchange was implemented to handle their email demands. The back up system was removed and replaced with new practices including both incremental and full back ups. All older workstations were upgraded to Windows XP Pro, while Windows 2000 workstations were updated to the most recent security and software patches. Remote server access was established so server administration could be done from anywhere. To further protect their network systems SADA established a centrally controlled anti-virus solution. Set up Nuevo Amanecer Latino for remote assistance so users could be in instant contact with SADA in the event of a problem. To ensure business continuity we applied similar changes to Nuevo Amanecer Latino offices in Orange County and Covina.
